Music

So last night my husband and I
ventured into the big city to see The National. And have Pinkberry.

<- The National

And if you're curious as to what The National sounds like feel free to visit the little music thingee over there. *gestures to the right*
I like concerts. I don't always like going to them but I love the feeling I get once I'm there. In fact most of the time I envision myself up on stage. I'm not exactly sure what I'd do once I got up there... would I sing or play the drums? The piano? Or perhaps I'd just stand on stage with my arms spread out and my eyes closed and listen to the roar of the crowd.
I've always wanted to know how that would feel.
Anyway. Music has always inspired me. Most of the songs over there -> are responsible for scenes I've written. Sometimes I don't even know what a character is capable of until I find just the right song. Scenes happen much the same way. Things have to play out visually in my mind before I can write them down.

So. I ask you. What inspires you?

BOOK THREE!!

In just a few weeks book three of Suzanne Collin's Hunger Games series hits the bookshelves. And to prepare for this much anticipated event I just finished rereading Catching Fire.

I was never a part of the Harry Potter craze. But I will admit I was very excited each time Stephenie Meyer dropped her brick-like books into the closest B&N.

But Hunger Games!! There's something very different about these books. I have said from the beginning that SM sold her soul to get where she is but Suzanne Collins is pure genius.

My husband and I still can't decide if Katniss will end up with Gale or Peeta or...will she die for the cause?

Sigh.

So I ask you. What books are you willing to stand in line for? As apposed to walking into the bookstore the very next day like most women who read YA books and have kids...

First blog post ever!!

I don't usually worry about new years resolutions but this year I made two. The first resolution was to finish my book which I did in April and the second one was that I would start a blog.
And now while I await that phone call, you know the one every published writer talks about, the one where they see their agent's phone number on their caller-id and suddenly hearts and rainbows shoot out of the receiver.
Yeah. That one.
Well until that day comes I will be using this blog to express my frustrations with the publishing world and everything else that causes me needless distress and daily distraction.
Oh. And once my book is published...I'm pretty sure you'll still find me here.
