Want to read something fun? Want a charming beach/take-you-away-for-the-time-being read?
Yeah. I thought so.
Here's what Goodreads has to say about it:
Being a 16-year-old safecracker and active-duty daughter of international spies has its moments, good and bad. Pros: Seeing the world one crime-solving adventure at a time. Having parents with super cool jobs. Cons: Never staying in one place long enough to have friends or a boyfriend. But for Maggie Silver, the biggest perk of all has been avoiding high school and the accompanying cliques, bad lunches, and frustratingly simple locker combinations.
Then Maggie and her parents are sent to New York for her first solo assignment, and all of that changes. She'll need to attend a private school, avoid the temptation to hack the school's security system, and befriend one aggravatingly cute Jesse Oliver to gain the essential information she needs to crack the case . . . all while trying not to blow her cover.
I'm a huge Robin Benway fan. Her first book, AUDREY, WAIT, is still one of favorites. If you haven't read it you really really should. Like, seriously.
I also read THE EXTRAORDINARY SECRETS OF APRIL, MAY & JUNE and loved that also. Like I said, I'm a fan.
So when I heard she had a new book coming out I was pretty excited.
I love spy books and spy movies. I love the level of unbelievability that goes into all stories involving spies. I am 100% along for the ride. I don't care if helicopters appear out of nowhere or if the spy always gets away. It's so stinkin' fun I just don't care. And you definitely get that with this book. But something I didn't expect to find in this story is the sweetness of Maggie and how the relationships she builds will pretty much steal your heart. There's Roux, who is one of the best best friend characters I've read in a while and then there's Jesse. Yeah, Jesse. He's pretty darn sweet.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good read. It's fun, it's funny and it will make your heart swell. Promise.
